We are anti-fashion, yet Yves Saint Lauren inspires us

Hyphen Eyewear was founded out of personal frustration, I could not find eyewear that made me look great. Designer labels from Europe actually looked worse while frames from Asia did fit OK, it just never looked great on me.

About ten years ago, I embarked on a journey to find a solution. I came to realize that eyewear or fashion design, in general, has evolved to the point where the designers lost touch of who they were designing for, the humans that buy their products. Through my research, I found out that it wasn’t always like that. Pierre Berge, co-founder of Yves Saint Laurent Couture, once said :

At Hyphen, our focus is on humans, just like it was when YSL started. We meticulously study shapes and contours of faces, and use that as inspiration for designing our frames.
